Amrani

Sarah Amrani is a conceptual artist from Rotterdam. In her work, Amrani explores the effect of social media and technologies on the experience of female identity, with a focus on the face as a battleground of beauty.

Sarah Amrani is the eighth recipient of the Florentine Riem Vis Grant.

She graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy and has a master’s degree in film studies & visual Culture at the University of Antwerp. She has participated in various group exhibitions, including Het Andere Verhaal - Kunst uit het Marokkaanse modernisme at the Cobra Museum, Amstelveen (2022), New radicalism at MONO, Rotterdam (2020) and The New Current at Spaanse Kubus, Rotterdam (2020). In 2018, Amrani held an exhibition called #Beautification, creating the perfect face at DASTHE art space in Casablanca, Morocco. Her work has been published in Metal Magazine and i-D Netherlands, among others.
