In conjunction with the exhibition Foam Talent, on view in New York from 22 March until 10 April, Foam is organising an afternoon of talks at Red Hook Labs on Saturday 23 March.
Each year, Foam Talent Call attracts over 1800 artistic projects. After reviewing all the tremendously diverse portfolios, the editors manage to select 20 entries that contain the most striking images. When examined closer, recurring themes begin to emerge amongst the bodies of work. Join us on a journey inside the minds of the artists as they reveal the stories behind the images and how they relate to identity, the photographic process and the world around us.
Admission to the event is free and you can RSVP here.
The panel discussions will be followed by the inaugural Labs Slide Slam, a presentation of work received via an open call for young photographers without agency and gallery representation. This is an opportunity for artists to have their work seen by an international community of editors and curators.
The Foam Talent programme and the annual Talent Issue of Foam Magazine are supported by The Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation, the Niemeijer Fonds and the VandenEnde Foundation.
Foam Talent | New York is mede mogelijk gemaakt door: Kleurgamma Fine-Art Photolab, Oschatz Visuelle Medien, Starframe en wordt ondersteund als onderdeel van het Dutch Culture USA programma door het Nederlandse Consulaat in New York.
