Mendez

Marisol Mendez challenges photographic norms by juxtaposing past and present, reality and fiction. In her portraiture practice, Mendez always collaborates with her subjects, allowing them to take part in the making-process. Her work, which has been showcased at major festivals and published internationally, critically examines hegemonic narratives through a unique lens. She was selected as one of the twenty artists for Foam Talent 2024-2025.

Mendez's achievements include the 2023 Sony World Professional Award Environment category and the 2021PHmuseum Photography Grant New Generation Prize. Today, she focuses thematically on visually exploring the boundary between truth and fiction.
