Buying photography
Where to start?
Are you interested in buying photography, but don't know where to start? In this workshop, Foam's gallery manager Lotte Klösters will discuss the most common topics and give some practical tips on how to make your first purchase. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to explore the Foam Editions collection while enjoying a drink.
About the workshop
When exploring the photo print as a collector's item, you face subjects such as the number of editions, different printing techniques, UV-resistant glass and more. The price of photo prints is often very favourable because of their reproducibility, making buying them so attractive. Yet many people experience a barrier when making a purchase.
In addition to a vast collection of photographic prints, Foam Editions also holds a wealth of information on purchasing photography. During this informative evening, Foam Editions' manager Lotte Klösters will discuss topics such as valuation, different photo techniques and buying photography, and address questions such as 'What is an AP?', 'What do you need to know if you're going to buy photography?', 'How do you start a collection?', and 'What is the best way to store or hang the photos at home?'.
