Book Launch: Thought Trails by Jackie Mulder

On Thursday, 15 May, Foam Editions is hosting the celebratory launch of Thought Trails, Jackie Mulder's first artist book. The book reflects on the possibilities of healing pathways and our essential relation with landscape and the natural world. Imagined as a possible trail unfolding through the pages, the sequence and treatment of the images invite the viewer to step into another world, be amazed, and make their own story.

During the evening, curator, editor, and writer Elisa Medde will host a Q&A with the artist, during which they will discuss the making of the book and the content of her work.

About the publication

Jackie Mulder's practice intertwines photography with textile, embroidery, and drawing to create multilayered, tactile images and tableaux. Her visual universe stems largely from her youth, when she started drawing as a means to address and cope with a repressive religious household. Over the years, she has crafted a unique working method allowing her to create complex, stratified artworks where photography is the foundational, fertile ground from which a new, layered reality appears.

After a career as a fashion and graphic designer, Mulder moved on to photography and artistic practice in 2021. Widely collected, her work has been included in many international art magazines, art fairs and group exhibitions.
