Maura Biava trained at the 'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera' in
Milan from 1988 till 1992, and after that at the 'Rijksakademie van
Beeldende Kunsten' in Amsterdam from 1997 till 1999. Since 2005
Maura Biava has been teaching at the 'Koninklijke Academie van
Beeldende Kunsten' in The Hague. In 2008 she was in residency at
the 'European Ceramic Work Center' now also known as 'Sunday
morning' in s'Hertoghenbosh. In 2011 she has been in residency at
'The American Academy in Rome'.

In 1999 Maura Biava had a DVD published, it was an initiative of
Bifrons Foundation, Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Baltic Gateshed,
Great Britain. The title is: For Urano, 8'20 min., with Roderick de
Man as music composer.
In 2001 Maura Biava had a book pubilshed as catalogue for the
exhibition Astrid, at the Bahnwärterhaus, Galerien der Stadt
Esslingen, Esslingen am Neckar, Germany.
In 2002 Maura Biava built a large scale permanent installation in
front of the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, The
Netherlands.
In 2007 Maura Biava together with Elspeth Diederix had a book
published by d'Jonge Hond publisher, The Netherlands with the title
Doride/Ultramarine.
